Answers that help, support that lasts — a bedroom at Nodera Children's Home

Clear information for Commissioners and Families, so you can feel confident every step of the way.

For Commissioners

We are currently completing our Ofsted registration. We are not yet registered to accommodate young people and cannot accept placements until registration is confirmed. We welcome enquiries from commissioners wishing to register their interest for future placements.

Nodera accommodates young people aged 10 to 17 with complex and multiple needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities, drug and alcohol problems, sensory impairment, and children subject to Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) orders. We have four registered places, and all placements are subject to a thorough matching assessment.

Yes. Nodera has been established with the specific capability and intent to accept DoL placements made by the Court of Protection or under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court. Our physical environment, staffing structure, and governance arrangements are designed to provide the proportionate restriction and therapeutic consistency these placements require, in full compliance with the authorisation.

Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed, relationship-based practice. We prioritise consistent routines and close collaboration with therapeutic professionals, working alongside external CAMHS and therapy providers as part of each young person's care plan.

Once registered and open to referrals, the process begins with an initial enquiry by phone or email, followed by information sharing and a matching assessment. See our Referrals page for full details of the process.

We maintain staffing ratios that meet and exceed regulatory requirements. Our small capacity of four places means young people benefit from a high level of individual adult attention and consistent keyworker relationships.

For Families

Contact arrangements are set out in each young person's care plan and agreed with the placing authority. We actively support family contact where it is safe and in the young person's best interests. Our Registered Manager can discuss specific arrangements with you.

Please contact the home directly using our contact form, or speak to your child's social worker or Independent Reviewing Officer. For urgent safeguarding concerns, call the police (999) or Hampshire Children's Services on 0300 555 1384.

We maintain regular communication with placing authorities and, where appropriate, with families, through Looked After Reviews, care plan meetings, and direct contact with keyworkers.
